This is a unique collection of original paintings which IslamExpo has commissioned from the artist Bassim Mehdi, known for his multi-layered paintings which fuse traditional Islamic architectural motifs, with geometrical patterns and calligraphy. The paintings revolve around the theme of the Islamic system of knowledge. The portraits introduce a host of scholars who were pioneers in the different branches of Islamic knowledge, from jurisprudence to philosophy, science to literature, and art to science.
